THIS EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE TCSAR HANGAR @ 300 South Batch Plant road, Jackson, WY

Stations Will Cover:

• Route Planning and Communication

  • Learn about digital mapping tools to plan your route

  • Understand the value of good communication and leadership when making decisions about terrain choices (GOs/NO GOs) and navigating an evacuation scenario

• Winter Packing Essentials

  • Go through a ‘typical backpack’ for snowy terrain and learn experts’ tips and tricks for staying warm, dry and safe

  • See what you should carry in your med kit and gear repair kit in case a fun day takes a challenging turn

• Wilderness Medicine and Incident Response

  • Review the steps of a primary and secondary patient assessment

  • Start to familiarize yourself with the contents of your new med kit (provided by TCSAR)

  • Learn how to reach 911 in a variety of backcountry settings and practice what to say when you need help
